Kazimierska and Werro win World Ultimate titles in Budapest

Day 2 in Budapest brought a 1500m where the top nine all broke four minutes and a 43.39 from Collen Kebinatshipi.

Klaudia Kazimierska won the World Ultimate 1500m title in Budapest in 3:57.55, holding off Georgia Hunter Bell to the line. Hunter Bell took second in 3:57.72, with both women closing their last 400m in 57 seconds. Nikki Hiltz was third in 3:58.16 off a 57.99 final lap, and the top nine finishers all broke four minutes.

CITIUS MAG says it is Kazimierska's second huge win in two weeks after a world leading 3:54.05 at the Diamond League final. For Hiltz it is a second third place on the global stage this year after bronze at World Indoors, and their highest outdoor championship finish to date.

Werro closes out an undefeated season

Audrey Werro led the 800m gun to tape and won in 1:55.88 over Keely Hodgkinson (1:56.26) and Femke Broeders-Bol (1:56.74). Hodgkinson ran down Broeders-Bol on the homestretch but never got close to Werro, who finishes her outdoor season undefeated. Werro also beat Broeders-Bol by 0.06 in Brussels earlier this month, per our earlier report.

Kebinatshipi 43.39, Paulino from last to first

Collen Kebinatshipi won the men's 400m in 43.39, taking 0.01 off a personal best he set a week earlier and moving into sole possession of fifth on the all time list. Rai Benjamin was second in 44.15, Jereem Richards third in 44.23. Jonathan Gault notes Kebinatshipi ran six sub 44 races in 2026, beating a record of four that had stood since 1992 and 1995, and the fastest was his last one. Chris Chavez says the title came with $150,000.

Marileidy Paulino won the women's 400m in 49.08 after sitting dead last at 200m, her tenth straight win of an undefeated 2026. Henriette Jaeger was second in 49.28.

In the sprints, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won the 100m in 10.62, her second fastest ever and 0.12 clear of Alfred in second. Kenny Bednarek beat reigning world champ Oblique Seville 9.85 in the men's race, which CITIUS MAG says gives Bednarek four career 100m wins over Seville to Seville's three.

That is day two of the meet, after Jakob Ingebrigtsen took the 5000m on the opening night. Full day two results are in LetsRun's roundup.

Hodgkinson closed well to overtake Broeders-Bol on the homestretch and take second in 1:56.26, but she couldn’t catch Werro who completes her undefeated outdoor season with another flawlessly-executed race.

Before 2026, record for most sub-44s in one year was 4 (1992 Wattts, 1995 MJ). Kebinatshipi had 6 in '26. And his fastest was his very last one.
