Josh Kerr won the World Ultimate 1500m in 3:29.35 after a broadcast graphic projected him 13th in a 12-man field, and Jemma Reekie ran a Fifth Avenue Mile course record.

Kerr closed the last 200m in 26.02 to win in 3:29.35 over Cam Myers (3:29.68), his first major championship since his mile world record in July, after a World Athletics broadcast graphic projected him 13th in a 12-man field. Three Americans went 3-4-5 within 0.03 of each other: Hobbs Kessler 3:30.73, Cole Hocker 3:30.74, Yared Nuguse 3:30.76, with Ethan Strand seventh in 3:31.30 (full results). Nuguse says he took the lead with 600m to go, his shoe half came off at the front, and it cost him push-off over the last 200m. Kessler said Jonah Koech's doping ban had hit his mindset in the weeks since it was announced, and third place was proof he is getting better.
13's one of my lucky numbers, so that's fine with me.

Reekie sets Fifth Avenue Mile course record in 4:14, Langon wins in 3:45
Jemma Reekie won her third Fifth Avenue Mile in 4:14 (unofficially 4:13.8), a second under the co-course records of Karissa Schweizer and Laura Muir, ahead of Josette Andrews (4:17) and Rachel McArthur (4:18). Marco Langon won the men's race in 3:45.0 in his first appearance, with Jake Heyward 0.04 ahead of Adam Spencer, both in 3:46 (results). Monti says the course drops 9m with the start and finish fully separated, so it is definitely not record-eligible (times count for the course record only, not national or world marks).
It's 9m downhill, and 100% start/finish separation. Definitely not record-eligible.
I won last week in Düsseldorf (at the Kö Mile), and I won a bunch of 1500's over the summer.

Run Testers pick Triumph 24 over Gel-Nimbus 28 for a livelier ride, both $170
The Run Testers compared the Saucony Triumph 24 ($170, 256g in a men's 8, 10mm drop) with the Asics Gel-Nimbus 28 ($170, 272g, 8mm drop, where drop is the heel-to-toe height difference) and picked the Triumph: its new incrediLUX foam gives a softer, lighter ride than the Triumph 23, while the Nimbus is protective and consistent but not lively underfoot. They recommend neither for anything faster than easy pace (video). Doctors of Running ranked five non-plated trainers (daily shoes with no carbon plate) by fit, and the Saucony Endorphin Azura came first for two of three testers on its wider toe box and volume, the Hoka Mach 7 was marked down for a low-volume, narrow toe box, and the Puma Deviate Pure Nitro climbed on performance because it breaks in well. One r/RunningShoeGeeks poster says Asics' Lite-Show lineup (Novablast 6, Gel-Kayano 33, Gel-Cumulus 28) is likely coming in October or November, with no news on a Superblast 3.

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won the women's 200m in a 21.47 lifetime best, into a headwind, a time CITIUS says only Shericka Jackson and Florence Griffith Joyner have ever beaten and its recap calls the fourth-fastest in history (results). Kenny Bednarek won the men's 200m in a 19.52 lifetime best to become the first athlete with two World Ultimate titles, and CITIUS says he and Jefferson-Wooden each leave Budapest with $300,000 for sweeping the 100m and 200m. Alison dos Santos won the 400m hurdles in 45.98, which CITIUS says is the third-fastest ever and 0.18 off his own world record from Zurich two weeks earlier.
Sedjati runs down Arop for World Ultimate 800m, Wanyonyi third with cracking back
Djamel Sedjati caught Marco Arop in the final 100m to win in 1:41.91 and $150,000, with Arop 1:42.28, Emmanuel Wanyonyi 1:42.44 and Brandon Miller 1:42.54; Chris Chavez posted Sedjati's halves at 50.39 and 51.52 (splits). Wanyonyi told LetsRun his back started cracking in warm-up and his coach wanted him to cancel the rest of the season, but he insisted on running his last race.
